This is a very challenging trail with one particular ledge that has become impossible for most Jeeps. The trail is particularly difficult for ATVS and UTVs as the switchbacks descend. Please avoid the illegal bypass that has been used by some in the past. A wilderness study area surrounds this trail and must be avoided.

Flat Iron Mesa
Flat Iron Mesa is south of Moab and is bounded by Kane Springs Canyon on the north, Hatch Wash Canyon on the west, West Coyote Canyon on the south, and Highway 191 on the east. A main road has a BLM sign, but our trail leaves the highway earlier and it quickly gets 4WD status on numerous old trails that reach fine canyon overlooks and provide some interesting four-wheeling. There are multiple obstacles that provide the rating number, some have bypasses, some don’t. If the Easter Egg Rock section is elected, once the excitement of squeezing past the rock has subsided, there is a harrowingly narrow section on a cliff edge that must be negotiated.

Top of the World
Top of the World Trail is an 18.9 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Moab, Utah that offers scenic views and is rated as difficult. The trail is primarily used for hiking, mountain biking, and off-road driving and is accessible year-round.
Behind the Rocks
The 8+ rated Behind the Rocks trail offers extremes in 4-Wheeling from two track level road to obstacles that most drivers with good sense would avoid. Views of the very rugged Behind the Rocks weather sculpted sandstone are impressive along the way. Running it backwards compounds the difficulty of the key obstacles. Breakdowns are to be expected and roll-overs are not uncommon.
